Imagine if selectors threw past records out the window and only judged players on IPL 2025. We built that squad for you. So, let’s dive in.
The openers? Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill. While Sudharsan was also the Orange Cap winner with 759 runs, his partner from the Gujarat Titans smashed 650. Some of you might argue Virat Kohli should’ve been there, but Gill’s strike rate was way higher than his, while their runs were almost the same.
At No. 3, there’s no debate: Suryakumar Yadav. He smashed 717 runs last season at a strike rate of 167.9. This spot might be reserved for Tilak Varma for Team India, but Sky snatches it on this list.
Selectors may or may not back him, but this list has space for Shreyas Iyer. With 604 runs, his batting was solid. But it was his strike rate of over 175 that stood out. In fact, it was the best among the top 10 run-getters last season. Moreover, the way he led his team, he could easily have been SKY’s deputy.
At No. 5, it’s Hardik Pandya. In addition to his 224 runs, he also bagged 17 wickets. Pretty balanced, right?
Axar Patel follows at No. 6. With 263 runs at a strike rate of 157+ and 5 wickets. His all-round value can’t be ignored. Oh, and he captained the Delhi Capitals this year too.
Sorry, Sanju Samson fans, but he misses out here. That's because Dhruv Jurel outperformed both him and Jitesh Sharma among Indian wicketkeepers with the most runs. Since KL Rahul was opening, he couldn’t slot in at No. 7 either.
For the bowling pack, Prasidh Krishna leads the way. He was IPL’s highest wicket-taker with 25 scalps. He’s joined by Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah at numbers 9 and 10 respectively, while Varun Chakravarthy completes the XI at the 11th spot.
