Like every year, IPL 2025 had its fair share of moments that defined the edition. Once again, the drama was full throttle — a little sass, a little class, and a whole lot of energy. As yet another season of the IPL is about to wrap up, let's relive some of the top moments from this edition.
Another season of the IPL is about to wrap up, and like every year, this one had its fair share of moments that defined the edition. Once again, the drama was full throttle — a little sass, a little class, and a whole lot of energy.
Bad Boy Rathi
Enter Digvesh Rathi — the new bad boy fans didn’t know they needed. He came in with a vibe that screamed, "I fear no one." The moment he started doing that now-iconic notebook celebration, he got reprimanded — not once, but three times. And even after fines, he didn’t stop. Forget the fines, he even got into a spat with Abhishek Sharma, but the notebook stayed put.
The cherry on top? In LSG’s final match, he even attempted to Mankad Mayank Agarwal. To everyone yelling about the "spirit of the game" — relax. Digvesh was well within his rights. Love him or hate him — you just can’t ignore him.
The 14-Year Wonder
Speaking of young blood, how can we forget Vaibhav Suryavanshi? A literal kid. While most his age are busy passing school exams, Vaibhav was busy passing IPL bowlers. At first, no one expected him to even play. But when he finally did, jaws dropped. 7 matches. 252 runs. A 35-ball century and a blazing fifty — all with a strike rate of 206, the highest among players with more than 3 matches. What more can we say — he didn’t just arrive, he conquered.
CSK's Gen-Z Plot Twist
And here’s the twist in the tale. CSK — the team known for their seniority squad — went full Gen-Z this season. And it totally paid off. How often does a replacement player become a team’s highlight? Once, maybe twice in a season? CSK gave us three. Ayush Mhatre, Dewald Brevis, and Urvil Patel — names that will echo in every CSK fan’s heart.
Ayush and Brevis smashed 240 and 217 runs respectively, both at strike rates above 180. And Urvil? He lit it up with a strike rate of 212.5, the best of the entire season. From Dad’s Army to Gen-Z Avengers — CSK’s reboot was pure entertainment.
PBKS Do the Unthinkable
Every IPL season has that "Wait, what just happened?" moment. This time, PBKS said, “We’ll give you one to remember.” Defending just 111, they bowled out KKR for 95, pulling off the lowest total ever defended in IPL history. Shreyas Iyer vs his former franchise? There was no need for a scripted revenge arc — PBKS wrote the screenplay, direction, and climax all by themselves.
The Pant Somersault
And of course, what’s a highlight reel without Rishabh Pant doing something... well, very Rishabh Pant? In LSG’s final match, he gave us the celebration of the season — a full-blown somersault. You’ve seen many wild celebrations in cricket, but this one? It might be impossible to recreate. Captain. Comeback King. Gymnast? Why not.
These were the moments that stood out for us this season. If you think we missed any, drop your favourites and let’s relive the madness together.
