When Punjab Kings retained Prabhsimran Singh, people were a bit puzzled — "Why him?" they asked. But fast forward 9 matches, and man, he’s on a full redemption arc. Already 292 runs under his belt, and his strike rate? A blazing 168.7! Against KKR, he once again displayed his full 360-degree shot range and hammered a fiery 83.
He was a little cautious at first — scoring 34 off 32 balls — but then he exploded, smashing 49 runs off the next 19 deliveries. The guy clearly knows when to switch gears.
And there was a reason he held back initially. His partner Priyansh Arya was stealing the show at Eden Gardens from the other end.
He too smashed 69 off 35 balls and is currently PBKS’s highest run-scorer with 323 runs. And these runs have come at a strike rate of over 200 — which includes a century. Priyansh really packs a punch. With 22 sixes so far, he’s just behind Nicholas Pooran on the list of most sixes this season. All of this, and it’s still his debut season. Unreal talent, honestly.
Priyansh has scored 228 runs in the powerplay overs this season — more than any other batter. His partner-in-crime Prabhsimran isn’t far behind, sitting 4th on the list with 209 runs.
