Big news for Apple fans this week the Cupertino giant is gearing up to launch not one, but three major products: the M5 iPad Pro, a refreshed MacBook Pro, and the much-anticipated Vision Pro 2. Interestingly, unlike Apple’s signature grand launch events, this one might be a silent drop, with the company expected to reveal everything through online announcements and press releases.
Apple’s quiet launch
According to multiple reports and trusted Apple insiders, this launch won’t follow the typical flashy keynote format. Instead, Apple plans to unveil the devices through online updates.
The timing also aligns with reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who hinted that Apple’s M5 chip lineup is ready for rollout, marking another leap in performance and efficiency.
iPad Pro M5
First up, we have
iPad Pro M5, the pad will be powered by the M5 chipset. Some benchmarks are making the rounds on X, suggesting a 12 percent jump in CPU performance as compared to the M4 chip. The pad will also reportedly have 12GB RAM.
Now, interestingly, a Russian YouTuber recently posted a video on YouTube where he ran benchmarks on the device, planned move, or just another leak? Not sure. But the device looked amazing in the video.
Design-wise, Apple seems to be going for subtle refinements, removing the “iPad Pro” branding from the back for a cleaner, minimalist look.
Vision Pro 2: Apple’s mixed-reality 2.0
The second in the list is Vision Pro 2, the device expected to be powered by the M5 chip. Among the refinements coming to the device, one highlight is the change of dual knit band for a better fit and comfort; there is a space black finish that gives a premium aesthetic.
More or less, Apple seems to be making subtle refinements in the design and performance instead of reinventing the device.
There were some really strong rumors of Apple’s affordable ‘Vision Air’ apparently, the product has been shelved and might not see the light of day.
MacBook Pro Joins the M5 Club
Finally, MacBook will get the M5 treatment too. The 14-inch variant will reportedly be launched this week. The device is expected not to have a design change; there will be more dramatic hardware changes on the line, such as an OLED display, and built-in touch screen support is going to be there. Big brothers, M5 Pro and M5 Max, are expected to launch later in 2026. While you might think these are routine changes, each chip generation brings some significant changes in both power and battery life.
So, while this may not be a glitzy keynote week, Apple’s quiet move could still redefine the premium tech landscape of 2025. And if history is any indication, expect benchmark numbers that once again leave the competition playing catch-up.
