The Galaxy Z Flip7 takes everything good about Samsung’s foldables and gives it a refined edge. With a sleeker hinge, edge-to-edge cover screen, and Exynos 2500 chip powering AI features like Live Translate and Circle to Search, this clamshell means business.

Samsung’s latest flip phone is finally here, and while it still folds like the last one, don’t be fooled—it’s gone through a serious glow-up. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 brings sleek upgrades in design, performance, and smarts, making it one of the most refined foldables Samsung’s launched yet. At first glance, it might look familiar, but use it for five minutes and the changes start to shine through.

Unboxing the Flip 7

Now, the unboxing. It wasn't the most exciting of unboxing experiences, especially considering its flagship status. You get a matte black square box that looks like a slightly tweaked S-series kit—minimal branding, no hint of colour, just plain and a little too simple. Inside, the phone is already unfolded with protective film on the screen. You’ll find a SIM ejector, USB-C to C cable, and a couple of leaflets tucked into a paper sleeve. No charger, no extras.

All about the screens and cameras

The Flip 7 features a 6.9-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display on the inside and a new 4.1-inch Super AMOLED outer screen, both pushing 120Hz refresh and up to 2,600 nits brightness. The outer panel also gets Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for extra durability.

Build-wise, it’s slim at just 6.5mm when open and 13.7mm when folded, weighing only 188g. The new Armor FlexHinge and aluminium frame make it tougher than before, and it now carries an IP48 rating for dust and splash protection.

On the back, you get a 50MP wide and 12MP ultra-wide setup, while a 10MP selfie camera handles the front. Thanks to Samsung’s new ProVisual Engine, the camera experience is now smarter, more intuitive, and AI-enhanced.

Inside, Samsung’s packed in its new Exynos 2500 chip, paired with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of onboard storage. You get Android 16 out of the box with the latest One UI 8 skin. Add in AI features like Live Translate, Circle to Search, and Note Assist, and the Flip 7 suddenly feels way more helpful, even when it’s closed. Speaking of closed—the new outer screen stretches edge to edge and looks much better than last year’s folder-style layout.

The pricing and colours

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 starts at ₹1,09,999 in India for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the top-end 12GB + 512GB model costs ₹1,21,999. It comes in Blue Shadow, Jet Black, Coral Red, and a Mint shade that’s exclusive to Samsung’s website. Pre-orders are already open, and if you grab one early, you can snag the 512GB model at the price of the 256GB one.
