Carl Pei has made it official: the Nothing Phone (3) is going premium.
In a recent YouTube appearance on The Android Show, the Nothing founder confirmed that their next flagship will be priced at around £800 — which roughly translates to ₹90,500. That’s double the price of last year’s Phone (2), and a clear signal that Nothing is done playing in the mid-range lane.
This new price tag puts the Phone (3) straight into flagship territory, going head-to-head with the big dogs like the Galaxy S25 and iPhone 16. While Pei didn’t reveal the full spec sheet, he made it crystal clear: this phone’s getting a serious upgrade in both build and performance.
Nothing steps into flagship territory
With the Phone (3), Nothing is officially entering premium territory. The nearly 2x price bump isn’t just for show; Pei hinted that this is going to be a proper flagship device with premium materials and big performance gains.
While he didn’t confirm the build details, rumours are already doing the rounds. Some say it might feature a titanium frame, others think we’ll see reinforced glass or even a ceramic back. Given how design-forward Nothing has always been, don’t be surprised if Phone (3) looks (and feels) ultra high-end.
Flagship chipset, maybe even an Action Button?
As for performance, Pei didn’t drop exact specs, but all signs point to a Snapdragon 8 Elite or MediaTek Dimensity 9400 series chip under the hood. Both are top-tier processors, built for speed, gaming, and serious multitasking.
And here’s the juicy bit: there’s talk of a new customisable Action Button, similar to the one on the recent iPhones. You might be able to map it to actions like opening the camera, toggling silent mode, or even triggering a custom app shortcut.
AI features baked into Nothing OS 3.0
Nothing OS 3.0 is already out, but Pei teased that the Phone (3) will get exclusive AI features. While he didn’t spill the beans, we can expect smarter UI interactions, predictive controls, and maybe even some ChatGPT-style AI features baked into system apps.
Pei wants the Nothing OS experience to go beyond just clean Android, and into a space that feels more intelligent and personal.
Launch window set for Q3 2025
In classic Nothing style, the Phone (3) is sticking to a summer launch. Both the Phone (1) and (2) dropped in July, and the Phone (3) is expected to land somewhere between July and September 2025.
With Samsung’s new foldables and Apple’s iPhone 17 series also expected around that time, Nothing clearly wants a piece of the flagship battle. The price is bold, but if the specs match the hype, it just might be worth it.
