Apple's "Awe Dropping" event 2025 to launch the iPhone 17 Series was jaw-dropping indeed! The Cupertino-based tech giant has officially unveiled the iPhone 17 series, marking its biggest hardware refresh of the year. The new lineup brings faster performance, camera upgrades, and a deep integration of Apple Intelligence across the board. But the spotlight wasn’t just on the standard and Pro models.

Apple also introduced the all-new iPhone Air, its slimmest iPhone ever. Alongside the phones, Apple refreshed its AirPods and Apple Watch range, adding health features and smarter AI tools.

Let’s break down what’s new.

iPhone 17 Overview: Elevating Performance and Features

  • The regular iPhone 17 is the foundation of the lineup. It runs on the A19 chip and features a 6.3-inch ProMotion display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
  • The camera setup includes a 48MP primary sensor and a 12MP secondary lens, while the 18MP front camera promises sharper selfies and video calls.
  • Apple has kept the Camera Control and Action Button, making it easier to tweak settings or launch apps quickly. Charging also gets a boost: a 10-minute wired top-up delivers up to 8 hours of use.

The iPhone 17 ships with iOS 26 and the new Apple Intelligence suite, which powers features like AI-driven writing tools, smart replies, and image generation.

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max: High-Performance Excellence

  • iPhone 17 Pro steps things up for performance users. It packs the A19 Pro chip with a vapour chamber cooling system, designed to keep thermals under control during gaming and heavy workloads. The chassis has been reworked into a durable aluminium unibody, and the display stays at 6.3 inches, 120Hz ProMotion. Where the Pro shines is photography. It comes with a triple 48MP setup- a Fusion main lens, an ultrawide, and a telephoto zoom. The 18MP front camera supports Centre Stage, keeping you in frame on video calls.
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: At the top of the lineup sits the iPhone 17 Pro Max, powered by the A19 Pro chip. It also uses vapour chamber cooling but scales up to a 6.9-inch OLED display at 120Hz. Camera hardware matches the Pro, but its larger body helps with sustained performance and longer battery life.

Both Pro models run iOS 26, support Camera Control and the Action Button, and of course lean fully into Apple Intelligence.

iPhone Air: Apple’s Slimmest iPhone Ever

  • The star of the launch is the all-new iPhone Air, which Apple is calling its slimmest iPhone ever at just 5.6mm thick.
  • It’s built with a titanium frame and Ceramic Shield on both sides, balancing sleek design with durability.
  • The Air features a 6.5-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by the A19 Pro chip, giving it flagship-grade performance.
  • For cameras, it offers a 48MP Fusion main sensor and an 18MP front shooter.
  • Like the rest of the series, it supports Camera Control, the Action Button, and full Apple Intelligence features baked into iOS 26.

It’s clear Apple is positioning the Air as a design-first device for users who want the latest features in a lightweight, ultra-slim form factor.

AirPods Pro 3: Smarter & Healthier Listening

The new AirPods Pro 3 also saw big upgrades.

  • They now include a heart rate monitor, new foam tips for better comfort, and 2X better noise cancellation.
  • Apple has also introduced live translation capabilities, making conversations across languages seamless.
  • Durability gets a boost too, with an IP57 water and dust resistance rating.

Apple Watch Series 11, SE 3, and Ultra 3

On the wearable side, Apple announced three new watches:

  • Apple Watch Series 11: It comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes, powered by the S10 chip. It adds 5G connectivity, Ion-X glass, hypertension alerts, sleep score tracking, and offers up to 24 hours of battery life.
  • Apple Watch SE 3: The budget pick, now with gesture support, an 18-hour battery life, and fast charging (15 minutes = 8 hours).
  • Apple Watch Ultra 3: The most rugged option with a 49mm sapphire crystal display, IP6X + 100m water resistance, 5G support, hypertension alerts, and an impressive 42-hour battery life.
