After years of rumours, wishlists, and one juicy leak, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is finally here—and it’s looking stunning. Bethesda has officially launched the remastered version of its iconic 2006 RPG across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, giving both die-hard fans and curious newcomers a chance to dive back into the world of Cyrodiil. And yes, it's using Unreal Engine 5. So, you’re in for some serious glow-up moments.
What’s new in the remaster?
This isn’t just a basic texture update. Oblivion Remastered has been rebuilt with Unreal Engine 5, meaning you get modern lighting, high-res character models, and just a sharper, sleeker world to explore. But it doesn’t stop at the visuals—gameplay has also levelled up.
Combat now includes Souls-like mechanics like real blocking, stamina-based movement, better archery, and stealth that actually works. It’s not a total rework of the classic system, but enough to make returning to Oblivion feel less clunky and more 2025.
Plus, you’re getting all original DLCs—Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, and that cheeky horse armour—bundled into the main game. No extra spending required (unless you go Deluxe, more on that below).
How much and where?
If you’re on PlayStation 5, you’ll find the game on the PlayStation Store for ₹4578. Want some extra goodies like new weapons and the famous horse armour in gold? The Deluxe Edition is yours for ₹5411.
Xbox Series X|S users can grab it on the Microsoft Store—and here’s the kicker: if you’re an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, you get the game free on both console and PC. Same deal for PC players via Steam, Windows Store, or Game Pass.
No word yet on widespread physical copies, but they might show up at retailers like GameStop or Walmart. For now, digital’s your best bet.
Big download warning
Before you go click-happy, make sure you’ve got space. This baby needs 120GB of storage—so maybe delete that game you haven’t touched in 8 months.
The comeback is real
Bethesda announced the remaster during a livestream on April 22, 2025, and the hype’s been real ever since. Studio head Todd Howard even called the original Oblivion a "defining moment" for Bethesda’s future—so bringing it back with this much polish is clearly a love letter to fans.
Bottom line? Oblivion Remastered is here, it’s pretty, and it’s ready to ruin your sleep schedule all over again.
