Leaked details suggest the OnePlus 15 will pack a new design, Snapdragon 8 Elite, 7300mAh battery and IP69 rating. India launch expected Jan 2026 with price around ₹75-80K.

OnePlus is coming in hot with its next big thing, the OnePlus 15 and from the looks of it, they have something really impressive.

The 15 will be the true successor to the OnePlus 13 and is going to bring one of the biggest design overhauls we’ve seen in years from OnePlus.

Like many other Chinese smartphone makers, OnePlus too is skipping the number 14, because of its association with death.

The phone was teased at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit and is expected to pack bleeding-edge hardware, a brand-new build, and a fresh Sand Dune colourway that already has fans talking.

A fresh, premium design

The biggest change is coming to the camera module. OnePlus has revealed photos of the device, which confirm that they are ditching the circular camera island for a cleaner, squared-off camera setup, something similar to what we saw on the OnePlus 13s. Two cameras will be set up vertically in pill-shaped black-cutout, whereas the flash and the third camera will be placed in their own cutouts.

The frame is getting a pretty serious upgrade too. OnePlus is rumoured to switch to aerospace-grade nano-ceramic metal that’s said to be lighter than titanium but more durable and better at cooling.

OnePlus has some really cool stuff going on with the design. Early rumours suggest that they re using something called a “Quenching Texture” finish with an Ice-Skin-like feel, which is supposed to help the device stay cool in the hand even if it is pushed under heavy load.

That’s not all, OnePlus is rumoured to be using micro-arc oxidation, nanoscale sealing, and ion colouring to improve toughness, colour retention, and resistance to wear.

Other rumours also suggest that we will be seeing some razor-thin bezels, at 1.15 mm.

Hardware and performance

On the inside, the OnePlus 15 is shaping up to be a performance beast. Powering it is the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Elite 5 chipset, paired with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage. And to keep thing cool, we are supposedly getting a bigger vapour cooling chamber.

It’s also expected to come with a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 165 Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.

Battery life should get a huge bump with a massive 7300 mAh cell, and it should get 120 W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Cameras and durability

For cameras, we should see a 50 MP triple camera setup. But instead of Hasselblad, it could be powered by OnePlus’ own DetailMax engine. This means that the OnePlus 15 officially marks the end of OnePlus’ long-running partnership with Hasselblad.

As for protection against the elements, we are looking at IP66, IP68, and even IP69 certifications. This would be a first for any OnePlus device.

India launch and expected price

Now, OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 15 first in China, which should be done in a couple of weeks. In India and probably the rest of the world though, the device will launch later, probably sometime in January 2026. This is typical for OnePlus and most China-based smartphone brands.

As for pricing, rumours from industry insiders suggest that we could be looking at a starting price of about ₹75-80,000 for the base variant, which would make it slightly more expensive than what the 13 launched for.
