OnePlus has been very consistent in delivering a top-cotch experience across their range of Andorid tablets, and with the Pad Go 2, they seem even more dialled in. Their latest budget tablet brings a bigger display, a fresh new design, and long-awaited stylus support. You also get 5G support in a select few configurations. The OnePlus Pad Go 2 isn’t just a mild refresh. It actually feels like a proper upgrade, with some features that were long overdue.
Unboxing: Classic OnePlus minimalism
The unboxing experience is exactly what you’d expect from OnePlus: clean, simple, and familiar.
Inside the box, you get the OnePlus Pad Go 2 in Lavender Drift, a 45W SuperVOOC charger, a USB Type-A to Type-C cable, and the usual paperwork. We are testing the 8GB + 256GB WiFi-only variant. However, there’s no stylus included, even though the Pad Go 2 now supports a stylus. Just like with most brands now, the stylus has to be bought separately.
Design: Softer, cleaner, more refined
The original Pad Go’s dual-tone circular back looked playful but could feel a little loud. The Pad Go 2 looks much more grown-up. The colours are more tasteful, the frame feels sleeker, and the camera module is cleaner and minimal. Apart from the Lavendar Drift and its pastel, premium aesthetic, it also comes in Shadow Black for a subtle look.
Display: The upgrade you actually notice
The new 12.1-inch 2.8K panel is a noticeable step up. It manages to deliver an immersive viewing experience that feels far better for content consumption.
Software: A clear improvement
It runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, and the highlight here is Open Canvas — a multitasking system that finally feels like it was designed with tablets in mind. Split screen, floating windows, and app scaling all work smoothly.
Stylus support: Long over due
Stylus support has finally arrived via the OnePlus Stylo. You can take notes, sketch, and annotate PDFs, but the stylus is sold separately. Anyone planning to use the tablet for productivity should keep that in mind.
Performance and battery: Dependable everyday power
Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra and paired with 8GB RAM, the Pad Go 2 handles everyday tasks comfortably. It comes in 128GB and 256GB storage options. The large 10,050mAh battery should easily get you through long streaming sessions. OnePlus clearly wants this to be a tablet you can binge an entire series on, in one go.
First impressions: A better budget tablet overall
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 feels like a meaningful upgrade, especially with stylus support finally here. But a lot will depend on the price. OnePlus will reveal it on December 17, and if they keep it under ₹20,000 as expected, this could be one of those rare Android tablets people actually buy for more than just online classes. A full review with stylus latency tests, battery torture runs, and some questionable doodles is coming soon.
