Realme isn’t playing with the P4 Pro. We get a design that’s pure statement, great visuals, and 144Hz + 1.5K gaming thanks to a clever AI display chip

The midrange smartphone space in India is heating up fast, and Realme’s next launch might just raise the bar for everyone. Meet the Realme P4 Pro, a device that’s clearly gunning for the top spot in its price segment.

We managed to get an early hands-on ahead of its official unveiling, and it’s already looking like a serious threat to rivals from iQOO, OnePlus, and Xiaomi.

BTW, we put its elder cousin, the Realme GT 7 in a head-to-head against the iQOO Neo 10, and the results were not what we were expecting.

What we have here is a phone that’s shaping up to be as much about style as it is about raw performance.

Realme P4 Pro first look: Performance that means business

Under the hood, the P4 Pro packs a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. That’s a serious combo for a phone expected to slot between ₹25,000 and ₹28,000, or less if we consider launch offers.

Needless to say, it does pretty well in benchmarks. But as our OnePlus Nord 5 vs Poco F7 vs Realme GT 7T performance test showed us, benchmark scores don't necessarily mean real-life performance will be just as well. In fact, the P4 Pro performs better than what its benchmarks score would suggest.

In day-to-day use too, it’s fast, fluid, and responsive, breezing through multitasking and heavy apps without flinching.

The secret weapon here is Realme’s new HyperVision AI Chip. Acting as a dedicated visual co-processor, it upgrades graphics whether you’re gaming or streaming. It’s the kind of tech we’ve seen in high-end gaming devices, now arriving in a far more affordable package.

Also thanks to that chip, BGMI which officially tops out at 90fps, gets pushed to 144Hz thanks to AI Hyper Motion. Realme even claims it’s the first phone to run BGMI at 1.5K + 144fps simultaneously, and our initial testing backs that up.

The AI frame generation also works with 100+ other titles, including Genshin Impact, delivering smoother visuals without the usual performance trade-offs.

That AI chip doesn’t just work for games. It enhances streaming across YouTube, Netflix, JioCinema, and Hotstar, upgrading SDR content to HDR on the fly. Colours look richer, motion is smoother, and details stand out more.

In our testing, when compared side by side with something like the Moto Edge 60 Fusion, the P4 Pro’s playback looked sharper and more dynamic.

Realme P4 Pro first look: A design that stands out

At 7.68mm thick and 189 grams, the P4 Pro feels light and sleek while still packing a large vapour chamber for cooling. The standout Birch Wood finish adds a subtle texture and premium feel, which is a bold departure from the usual glass-and-metal look in this segment.

Midnight and other colours are available, but Birch Wood is the one that turns heads.

Realme P4 Pro first look: Final thoughts

Between the AI chip, boosted gaming performance, premium design, and competitive pricing, the Realme P4 Pro is shaping up to be one of the most compelling midrange options of the year. If Realme nails the price, this could be a serious challenger for the midrange crown.
