Realme P4x is a powerful under-₹20K performer with Dimensity 7400 Ultra, 90FPS gaming, UFS 3.1 storage, and a bold, practical design for everyday use.

Realme clearly doesn’t believe in taking breaks. Hardly three months after launching the P4 and P4 Pro, the brand is set up to drop yet another phone, the Realme P4x. This is the latest addition to Realme's performance-focused lineup, aiming to offer the same great experience as the P4 Pro at a more affordable price.

We’ve already tested the P4 Pro and came away impressed with how smooth it ran. The P4x looks set to deliver something similar, minus a few premium frills, and after putting it through benchmarks, gaming, and real-world use, here’s how it stacks up.

Performance

Under the hood you’ll get the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset, this is the same chipset that we saw on the Realme P4 and Infinix GT 30. But one thing should be noticed is Realme has taken a step forward with its faster UFS 3.1 storage, which is rare in this segment where UFS 2.2 is still common.

Spec wise our review unit came with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while you can buy the base version as well that comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There's also a microSD slot for expandable storage, making it a good option for budget gamers and heavy app users.

We also ran some benchmarks and on paper, the numbers impressed. In our benchmark testing, the phone scored 944,175 points on AnTuTu, which is higher than the 727,332 points of the Infinix GT 30.

On Geekbench, the GT 30 is slightly ahead, but the difference isn't significant enough to be noticeable in real life.

In day-to-day use, the P4x feels smooth and responsive. Whether you’re juggling between apps, scrolling through social media or gaming, it keeps things fluid without lag or throttling.

For gamers, Realme’s optimisations truly shine. BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile both run at 90 FPS with GT mode enabled, and performance remains stable throughout long sessions.

Realme also claims that this is the only phone in its class with VC cooling and while we can’t confirm that just yet, the temperature stayed impressively under control even after 30 minutes of gameplay.

Battery

Now, this is where Realme is being a bit secretive. Thanks to embargo rules, we can’t reveal the exact battery size just yet, but Realme has confirmed that it’s bigger than 5,500mAh which already puts it ahead of most mid-range rivals.

Charging is handled by 45W fast charging, and Realme’s also added bypass charging. This feature lets the phone draw power directly from the adapter during gaming, instead of constantly cycling the battery. In short: longer battery health and less heat.

Design & Build

In terms of design the Realme P4x doesn’t scream for attention, and because of this it looks classy. Realme has kept things simple, no wild patterns, no oversized branding, just cleaner and more mature.

Our review unit came in the Silver colourway, featuring a matte, brushed-metal texture that looks convincingly premium even though it’s plastic. Both the back panel and frame are made of plastic, but the curved edges and soft finish make it comfortable to hold for hours.

At 8.39mm thick and 208 grams, the phone does feel a bit hefty in the hand, but not in a bad way. There’s a reassuring heft to it, a sense that you’re holding something sturdy rather than hollow.

One thing worth noting, the bottom bezel on the display is a little chunky, but it’s not a dealbreaker. You also get IP64 protection, meaning the phone can survive dust and light splashes without breaking a sweat.

Camera

The dual-camera layout on the back will remind you of the Samsung Galaxy A17. The two lenses are positioned vertically inside a pill-shaped module that blends into the rear panel instead of protruding.

From a distance, the P4X looks way pricier than it probably is. It’s not pretending to be a luxury flagship, it’s just confidently designed and practical.

Initial thoughts

The Realme P4x shapes up to be a serious mid-range contender. It focuses on the three things that actually matter in this segment: performance, battery, and durability.

With the Dimensity 7400 Ultra, UFS 3.1 storage, a potentially massive battery, and a thoughtful design, Realme seems to be setting the stage for one of the most balanced phones under ₹20,000.

We’ll reserve final judgment until we can push it through more in-depth camera and endurance tests, but as of now, the Realme P4x looks like another solid move from a brand that clearly doesn’t believe in slowing down.
