Samsung’s Fan Edition means the FE series is back, and this year we’re looking at the brand-new Galaxy S25 FE.
Samsung has brought a slimmer design, Exynos 2400 chipset and a vibrant 6.7inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. With Android 16 based on OneUI 8 you also get Now Bar, Now Brief, Circle to Search gameplay, Gemini Live, Audio Eraser and more into this value-focused edition,
The FE series launched about five years ago with a mission: deliver a flagship experience at a more accessible price point. Now, half a decade later, how does the new iteration stack up? Let’s dive in.
Galaxy S25 FE: All the upgrades you need to know
The Galaxy S25 FE sticks to the recognizable design language of the S series, closely resembling last year’s S24 FE, but with some thoughtful tweaks. Bezels are slimmer, the profile measures just 7.4mm thick, and the phone is impressively light at 190g. It comes in four color options: Icy Blue, Jet Black, White, and Navy Blue.
On the front, you get a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X LTPO display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and 1900 nits peak brightness. In limited hands-on usage streaming, and social media scrolling the display looks bright, vivid, and fluid.
Durability hasn’t been overlooked either. You’ll find Gorilla Glass Victus+, Enhanced Armour Aluminum, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Overall, the design and display left a solid first impression.
Under the hood, Samsung has gone with the Exynos 2400, a 4nm chipset. While this processor previously struggled with heating issues, Samsung promises cooler performance this time around.
The improvements come from a 10% larger vapor chamber and, for the first time in an FE model, a flagship-grade liquid thermal interface material. We’ll need more testing to judge performance.
Out of the box, the phone runs Android 16 with One UI 8, fully loaded with Google Gemini and Galaxy AI tools such as 16 based on OneUI 8 you also get Now Bar, Now Brief, Circle to Search gameplay, Gemini Live, Audio Eraser. Samsung is also committing to 7 years of OS and security updates.
The camera setup remains familiar, 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultrawide, 8MP telephoto with 3x zoom. The front camera has been bumped up to 12MP, which should mean sharper selfies and better video calls.
The 4900mAh battery is a welcome upgrade from last year. It supports 45W fast charging and 15W wireless charging, all while fitting into that slim 7.4mm frame. Despite the bigger cell, the phone is still lighter than the S24 FE.
The Galaxy S25 FE feels like a carefully refined package: familiar yet polished design, durable build, improved cooling for performance, and a larger battery all topped off with Samsung’s AI features and long-term software support.
We’ll know more once we put it through full testing.
