Samsung Galaxy S25 FE unboxed! A 120Hz AMOLED display, Gorilla Glass Victus+, 4900mAh battery & premium design make this Fan Edition worth a look.

People usually have a ton of expectations from the Galaxy FE devices that Samsung launches each year, and this year’s Galaxy S25FE is finally here.

Samsung’s Fan Edition has always been about delivering flagship-level performance without going all-in on the Ultra price tag. In India, the Galaxy S25FE starts at ₹59,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, with sales kicking off on 29 September 2025.

Moving starting to the unboxing experience, it feels premium right from the get-go. The S25 FE comes in a sleek black box, just like Samsung’s top-of-the-line flagships. Inside, you get the device itself, along with a SIM ejector tool, a quick start guide, and a USB Type-C to Type-C cable. For testing, we had the Navy Blue colour.

As expected, there’s no charger in the box, which is typical of Samsung’s. In any case, you’ll need to reuse an existing charger or pick one up separately to get the best charging speeds.

Design & Build Quality

The first thing I noticed when I picked up the Galaxy S25 FE is how well-balanced it feels. At 190 grams and just 7.4mm thick, it feels very sleek and yet very solid in the hand. The matte finish on the Navy colour variant goes a long way to give it a very sophisticated look.

The phone is rated at IP68 for water and dust resistance, so it can easily handle splashes, rain, or dusty conditions. The buttons, which have been placed along the right edge, feel solid and robust. The overall ergonomics of the phone make it easy to use for long periods.

On the back, the triple-camera setup is accented with silver frames, which complement the matte finish beautifully — especially on the Navy unit.
The frame feels premium, the build is solid, and it delivers the quality you’d expect from Samsung’s FE line. You can pick from three colours: Navy, Black, and White.

Display & multimedia

The Galaxy S25 FE gets a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Scrolling is smooth, animations are fluid, and colours really pop, no natter what content you’re watching on the display.

And because the display is so vibrant, watching Netflix, YouTube, or gaming feels very immersive. Adding to that immersive experience are those slim bezels. The display is also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus+, giving you peace of mind against scratches and minor drops.

Performance Under the Hood

Powering the Galaxy S25 FE is Samsung’s Exynos 2400 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM in the base variant, with higher variants going up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. Day-to-day tasks, from social media scrolling to switching between apps, feel fluid. Although we have not tested it out yet and are saving it for the full review, gaming performance should also be solid.

Samsung has also packed the phone with a ton of AI features thanks to One UI 8. These features go a long way in enhancing productivity. I fully expect tools like generative editing for photos, live translation, and many more of these to make their way into my day-to-day usage.

Battery & Charging

The Galaxy S25 FE comes with a 4,900mAh battery. This is a slight bump over the 4,700mAh cell found on the S24 FE. Samsung is claiming up to 28 hours of video playback, which puts it right up there with its flagship siblings.

As for charging, the phone supports fast wired charging, taking the battery from 0 to 65% in just 30 minutes.

First Impressions

Having played around with the S25 FE, here’s what stands out:

Design, build quality, and durability feel premium—Samsung hasn’t watered down the FE in feel. The display is smooth, responsive, and bright. UI feels polished, especially with One UI 8 and AI enhancements. Camera setup is versatile; the primary sensor with OIS and the telephoto zoom are big a plus.

If there’s a downside in my book, it would be the 4,900mAh battery. Yes, it’s an upgrade over last year, but its rivals are now pushing 6,000mAh or even 7,000mAh cells in this price range. Having said that, the battery & charging setup is decent enough, so you won’t be hunting for charging points in the middle of your work day. Still, Samsung will have to prove that its optimisation can deliver a full day of heavy use.
