Samsung might be cooking up a sweet surprise for its next Galaxy Unpacked event—a budget-friendly foldable phone. Alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, rumours suggest we could see the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, a clamshell-style foldable that cuts the cost without killing the vibe. And if the leaks are anything to go by, this one could deliver flagship performance without the flagship pricing.
A cheaper foldable? Count us in
According to a new report from TechManiacs, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE could launch at under EUR 1,000 (around ₹96,000). That puts it right next to the Z Flip 6 in terms of pricing, which starts at EUR 899 in Europe. But the big deal here? You’re possibly getting similar core hardware in a cheaper body. Samsung might be pulling an ‘FE’ move here just like it did with the Galaxy S series—offering all the essentials, minus the fluff.
Flagship guts, compact form
Specs-wise, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is rumoured to come with a 6.7-inch LTPO Super AMOLED 2X display on the inside with a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer cover screen could be 3.4 inches—just like the Z Flip 6. Under the hood, you’re likely getting a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 12GB of RAM, and a camera setup featuring a 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide, and a 10MP selfie shooter. All three cameras are said to support 4K 60fps video. Battery duties could be handled by a 4,000mAh unit with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging.
A Flip 6 twin in disguise?
If all of this sounds familiar, that’s because it kind of is. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE looks like it could be a slightly tweaked version of last year’s Flip 6, repackaged with a different label. It’s even rumoured to carry an IP48 rating—just like a flagship. So, if Samsung actually goes through with this, you’re essentially getting a premium flip phone experience at a more accessible price. As we head closer to the Unpacked event, expect more leaks and maybe even a few surprises. This might just be Samsung’s best play yet to make foldables mainstream.
