Samsung’s next big drop is just around the corner. The Unpacked event is going down on July 9, and all eyes are on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. And just days before the official reveal, fresh leaks have surfaced, revealing what to expect — thinner frames, bigger batteries, and brighter displays. Let’s break it down.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be Samsung’s slimmest Fold yet
According to tipster Setsuna Digital, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 might arrive with a super-slim profile—just 8.9mm when folded and a crazy-thin 4.2mm when unfolded. That’s a serious trim-down from last year’s Fold 6, which was 12.1mm folded.
It’s expected to pack a 6.5-inch cover display and a spacious 8-inch inner screen, all powered by the top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip. The design could also get a premium lift, with an aluminium frame and glass ceramic back.
For selfies, the Fold 7 might come with a 10MP front camera offering a 100-degree field of view. And in terms of weight, it’s getting lighter too—215g, compared to 239g on the Fold 6. Looks like Samsung’s on a serious mission to make this Fold sleeker and lighter than ever.

Galaxy Z Flip 7 gets bigger screens and a better battery
On the Flip side (literally), the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is getting some solid upgrades. The cover screen is jumping to 4.1 inches, up from 3.4 inches on the Flip 6. Inside, you get a 6.9-inch foldable display, both supporting 120Hz refresh rates and 2,600 nits of peak brightness.
Battery life should see a nice boost too, with a 4,300mAh unit under the hood—an upgrade from the 4,000mAh in the previous gen. It’s also getting a design refresh: just 13.7mm thick when closed and 6.5mm when open, shaving off bulk compared to the Flip 6.
Weight-wise, it clocks in at 188g, making it one of the lightest clamshell foldables in the game right now.

What else to expect on July 9
The Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9 won’t just be about foldables. Samsung is also rumoured to reveal new Galaxy Buds and smartwatches.
Pre-reservations for Samsung’s upcoming foldables are already live in India.
If these leaks are even halfway accurate, Samsung’s foldables are getting a serious upgrade in both form and function. And we’re here for it.
