Samsung’s back in the foldable game, and the Galaxy Z Fold7 is easily its most refined one yet. After years of experimenting and polishing the design, this feels like the version where everything just clicks. It’s thinner, lighter, and cleaner—without sacrificing the flagship power and flex-worthy features that make the Fold series stand out.
The Galaxy Z Fold7 isn’t just another spec bump; it’s a total glow-up. This time around, Samsung has trimmed the fat, levelled up the build, and made the foldable feel like a legit everyday flagship, like what it was supposed to be, from the very beginning. In short, Samsung has all but perfected the Fold.
In India, pricing starts at ₹1,74,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, with the top-end 16GB + 1TB version hitting ₹2,10,999. So yeah, it’s expensive—but at least now it actually feels worth the splurge.
Unboxing the Fold7
Let’s start with the unboxing, because honestly, it’s nothing to write home about. The box is square, matte black, and feels like a repurposed S-series package—just chunkier. There’s no fun branding, no colour reveal, and it’s all a bit too plain for a phone this expensive.
Inside, you get the Fold7 right on top, already unfolded with the screens covered in protective film. And that’s the best part of the whole unboxing. Tucked in the lid is a slim envelope with your paperwork, SIM tool, and a USB-C to C cable. No charger, no extras, no surprises.
So yeah, if you were expecting an iPhone-style luxury unboxing moment, you’re not getting that here.
Slim, light, and seriously premium
Now, where things get spicy is the Fold7’s design. Samsung has trimmed it down like crazy. We’re talking just 215g in weight—lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra—and only 8.9mm thick when folded. Open it up? A razor-thin 4.2mm. This is officially Samsung’s lightest and thinnest Fold ever, and it shows.
The build’s got that classic Samsung flex: Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the cover screen, Victus 2 on the back, an Armour Aluminium frame, and a new titanium-reinforced hinge. It’s sturdy, elegant, and surprisingly pocketable for a foldable.
We’ve got the Blue Shadow version in hand, and it looks slick. There’s also Jet Black and Silver Shadow if you’re feeling more classic or flashy.
Open it up and you’re met with a huge 8.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh. It’s bright, crisp, and built for multitasking, streaming, or just flexing in public.
On the front, the 6.5-inch cover screen is now wide enough to actually be usable. No more cramped typing or squished Instagram scrolling—it finally feels like a real phone even when folded.
Under the hood, you’ve got the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy doing the heavy lifting, with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. It runs One UI 8 on top of Android 16 and brings all the Galaxy AI magic—Circle to Search, live translation, AI suggestions—you name it.
Multitasking’s smoother than ever, and you can really feel the software is designed for this big-screen foldable vibe.
Camera-wise, Samsung’s not holding back. There’s a 200MP main sensor, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP 3x telephoto with 30x Space Zoom. Selfies are covered by two 10MP cams—one on the front screen, one on the inside.
Battery life
The 4,400mAh battery feels okay for now. You get 25W wired, fast wireless, and Wireless PowerShare. It’ll easily last a full day with typical use, but you will have to wait for our complete in-depth review if you really want to see how it fares in real-life usage.
