Vivo is finally bringing the X Fold 5 to India, and it’s looking like one of the toughest, most premium foldables we’ve seen in a while. After launching in China, Vivo has started teasing the India arrival on social media—and it’s also hinted that the X200 FE is on its way, signalling a packed season for the brand’s flagship lineup.
The X Fold 5 will be available via Flipkart and Vivo’s official India store, with the official launch date expected to be announced soon.
This foldable’s got serious survival stats
Durability is the big story here. The X Fold 5 features a Carbon Fiber Support Hinge, tested to survive up to 600,000 folds. That’s a massive jump in long-term usability, especially for power users. It’s also packing some next-level resistance: IPX8/IPX9 water protection, IP5X dust resistance, and even –20°C freeze resistance. Basically, it’s one of the most rugged foldables set to hit Indian shelves.
Despite all that toughness, the phone stays surprisingly sleek: 9.2mm folded, 4.3mm unfolded, and it weighs just 217g. That’s impressive engineering.
Triple 50MP cameras and dual selfie shooters
The rear camera setup is stacked: a 50MP Sony IMX921 main sensor (f/1.57, OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP 3x telephoto with a Sony IMX882 sensor. On the front, you get two 20MP selfie cams—one on the outer screen and one inside—so no matter how you’re using the phone, your selfies stay sharp.

Shortcut button + lighter hinge = smooth multitasking
One of the new highlights is the Shortcut Button, a customisable tool for quick access to apps and workflows. Foldables are all about multitasking, and Vivo seems to be leaning hard into that “productivity meets premium” vibe.
The hinge has been reworked to balance strength and comfort, and paired with that lightweight frame, it’s clear Vivo wants this to be more than just an eye-candy flex.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, massive battery, and fast charging
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is doing the heavy lifting. It’s not the absolute newest chip on the block, but it’s still a flagship-grade performer. Whether you’re gaming, editing, or juggling multiple apps across both screens, it’s built to handle it.
You also get a 6,000mAh dual-cell battery, with 80W wired and 40W wireless charging—that’s major, considering how power-hungry foldables tend to be.
India launch coming soon
No exact date yet, but the teasers make it clear—Vivo X Fold 5 is dropping soon, and you’ll be able to grab it via Flipkart and Vivo’s online store.
