Vivo X200 Ultra just dropped in China, and its gunning for the crown of the best camera phone of 2025.

Vivo is back to reassert its crown in the smartphone camera race. With the launch of the Vivo X200 Ultra in China, the brand is sending a clear message—it’s here to dominate the flagship photography game. Armed with ZEISS optics, a 200MP telephoto lens, and Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip (officially called “Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Elite”), the X200 Ultra is designed to take on the likes of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and OPPO Find X8 Ultra.

Flagship-grade performance and display

At its core, the Vivo X200 Ultra runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Elite SoC paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage options ranging from 256GB to a whopping 1TB. The phone also features a 6.82-inch 2K curved LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and Dolby Vision support.

It packs a massive 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support, along with reverse wireless charging. The phone boots Android 15 with OriginOS 5 and comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.

The camera setup that’s built different

What truly sets the X200 Ultra apart is its camera hardware. There’s a 50MP Sony LYT-818 main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens also using the LYT-818 sensor, and a 200MP telephoto camera using Samsung’s ISOCELL HP9 sensor with 85mm equivalent focal length and 4K at 120fps slow-mo recording. Every sensor on this phone is flagship-grade, and Vivo isn’t cutting any corners.

It also features dedicated V3+ and VS1 imaging chips for post-processing, focus enhancements, and better exposure in tough lighting. A new physical “V key” acts as a customisable camera shutter, enabling everything from quick-launch to precision zoom and exposure control.

Zeiss teleconverter and photographer kit

To take things a step further, Vivo is offering a Zeiss-designed 2.35x telephoto teleconverter lens that works with the 200MP shooter, a detachable grip with dedicated zoom and shutter controls, a battery pack, and filter adapters as part of its “Photographer’s Kit” bundle.

Vivo X200 Ultra Pricing and availability

The Vivo X200 Ultra starts at CNY 6,499 (₹76,000) for the base 12GB/256GB variant, going up to CNY 9,699 (₹1,12,400) for the fully loaded 1TB variant with the photography kit. It comes in Black, Red Circle, and Silver Tone shades, and goes on sale in China from April 29. Sadly, there’s no word yet on a global or India launch.
