Uorfi Javed was all set to make a dazzling debut at Cannes this year, but unfortunately, visa troubles dashed those plans. It’s a huge disappointment, not just for her fans but for the entire fashion world.
Over time and again Uorfi has shown her fashion prowess through her various attire. Be it a colour changing dress or a Rahul Mishra gown inspired by the universe, Uorfi is nailing the quirky side of fashion, and we are impressed.
While she could not make it to Cannes, here are some of her outfits that we feel should definitely have made it to Cannes and the Met Gala.
For her IIFA 2025 appearance in 2025, Uorfi wore a custom Rahul Mishra and Amit Aggarwal. The diva wore a striking hand-embroidered Visages corset paired with a sequinned leotard in black from Rahul Mishra’s Fall 2024 couture collection.
The actress shared the pictures on Instagram and wrote, “Wore @rahulmishra_7 and I think my heart will explode. I’ve always wanted to wear Rahul Mishra, and finally, I did. This dress represents Brahma, the universe, everything, and nothingness. Rahul is a pure genius, and his talent is unmatched. This piece is magic—the delicate work, the story it represents. I’m so grateful to you, @rahulmishra_7. Thank you. Last night was a dream come true.”
Then there’s her bold Viktor & Rolf-inspired ensemble. If you know fashion, you know Viktor & Rolf is all about pushing boundaries, mixing theatricality with couture. Uorfi channelled that energy perfectly, blending avant-garde flair with her own unique edge.
Uorfi shared a video of herself wearing a stunning golden outfit by Akhilesh Gupta. Designed to resemble flames encircling her, the ensemble symbolises ‘Nari shakti’—women’s power—embodying resilience, strength, and the spirit to overcome challenges.
Uorfi Javed surprised her fans with an illusion dress inspired by Iris Van Herpen. In her Instagram post, she revealed that it took two months with designer friend Saurabh to laser-cut and assemble white circles into a striking visual effect.
It’s truly a loss that Cannes missed out on this whirlwind of creativity this year. But the silver lining? We are confident that this is just the beginning for Uorfi. The way she’s shaking up Indian fashion and making waves internationally suggests she’s destined for global stardom. And if she couldn’t make Cannes, there’s always the Met Gala, right? That would be the perfect stage for her to showcase her boundary-breaking style to an even wider audience.
