India etched its name in cricket history by securing a record third ICC Champions Trophy title, defeating New Zealand by four wickets in a gripping final at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The victory, which saw India chase down 252 with six balls to spare, sparked euphoria across the nation, with celebrities joining fans in celebration.

Singer Jubin Nautiyal exclaimed, “Team India is like the crown of the nation right now. They have made us proud… They give us motivation to do better, to win in life and be humble about it. Big congratulations to Team India and all Indians. This is a big victory for all of us.” Actor Bobby Deol echoed, “Team India is amazing… Each and every player has contributed… The way the boys have played, hats off to them. I was lucky to watch the winning shot.”

This victory marked India’s third Champions Trophy title, surpassing Australia to become the tournament’s most successful team. Led by captain Rohit Sharma, who scored a match-defining 76, India chased down 252 with six balls to spare. Shreyas Iyer (48), KL Rahul (34*), and Hardik Pandya (18) played crucial roles, while spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy stifled New Zealand’s 251/7, built on half-centuries from Daryl Mitchell (63) and Michael Bracewell (53). Ravindra Jadeja’s boundary sealed the win, igniting celebrations.

Ending a 12-year wait for an ICC ODI title since 2013, this win—following their 2024 T20 World Cup success—highlighted India’s white-ball dominance. Rohit joined MS Dhoni as a multiple ICC-winning captain, while he and Virat Kohli became the first Indians with four ICC titles. India’s 2025 Champions Trophy triumph is a legacy-defining moment in cricket history.
