Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that recent terror incidents could have been prevented if India had followed Sardar Patel’s advice from 1947. Speaking in Gandhinagar, he recalled that soon after independence, the first terrorist attack occurred in Kashmir, with Pakistan occupying part of the region. Modi added that India should have eliminated those Mujahideen and not stopped until the entire Pakistan-occupied Kashmir was reclaimed, as Patel had wanted.

Rahul’s Manuvaad Allegation

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged that eligible SC, ST, and OBC candidates are being deliberately declared ‘not found suitable’ to keep them away from education and leadership opportunities. Gandhi made these remarks during a recent interaction with students of the Delhi University Students’ Union. The video of the session was posted on social media on Tuesday. In it, the Congress MP also referred to this alleged trend of ‘Not Found Suitable’ as the new Manuvad.

Monsoon Intensifies

The monsoon has intensified across India. The Meteorological Department has issued a five-day red alert for coastal Karnataka, and a one-day red alert for Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur in Kerala. Delhi is also expected to witness heavy rainfall during the last two days of May.

IndiGo Co-Founder’s Stake Sale

IndiGo co-founder Rakesh Gangwal and his family trust on Tuesday sold a 5.7 per cent stake in the airline. According to a PTI report quoting sources, the block deal was valued at around 11,385 crore rupees. Before this sale, Gangwal and the family trust collectively owned approximately 13.5 per cent of the airline.

Stock Market Down

Indian equities saw a sharp decline in Tuesday’s session, erasing Monday’s gains. The Sensex dropped over 600 points to close just above 81,500, while the Nifty fell nearly 200 points, ending the day below 25,000.

Liverpool Crash: One Detained

And the big global story — A British man has been arrested after driving a minivan into fans celebrating Liverpool Football Club’s Premier League Championship, injuring nearly 50 people. Authorities said the 53-year-old suspect is believed to be acting alone, and the incident is not being investigated as terrorism. The driver remains in custody but has not been charged, and police have not released his name.
