The Infinix Note50X is shaping up to be an exciting option in the budget segment, offering a design that looks far more expensive than its price tag suggests. Priced at around ₹15,000, it packs some impressive hardware, making it an interesting contender in the affordable smartphone market.

Good performance, but underwhelming display

Powering the Note50X is the Dimensity 7300 Ultimate, a refined version of the already powerful Dimensity 7300, known for delivering solid performance in budget and mid-range devices. Designed with gamers in mind, this chipset can run popular titles at 90fps, making it a great choice for mobile gaming enthusiasts. The model we tested came with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but thanks to RAM Boost, users can expand the RAM virtually to 12GB for smoother multitasking.

The device sports a 6.67-inch IPS LCD HD+ display, which is large enough for immersive content consumption but comes with sizeable bezels and a thick chin—a compromise that might not sit well with those who prefer sleeker designs. However, for the price, it still delivers decent visuals.

Design that stands out

Infinix has gone all out with design, offering the Note50X in three striking colours—Sea Breeze Green, which features a vegan leather back, Titanium Grey, and Enchanted Purple with a metallic finish. Beyond aesthetics, it also boasts MIL-STD 810H durability certification and an IP64 rating, adding a layer of toughness to its stylish build.

The back panel features an octagon-shaped diamond cutout for the camera island, giving the device a unique look. The 50MP primary camera sits within this module alongside a halo light, adding to the phone’s premium feel.

On the software side, the Infinix Note50X runs on XOS 15, which comes loaded with AI-driven features and an in-built voice assistant. While Infinix’s UI isn’t as refined as stock Android, the extra AI tools could make for a more personalised user experience.

Final Thoughts

For a smartphone priced around ₹12,000, the Infinix Note50X manages to bring a mix of gaming-friendly performance, stylish design, and durable build quality. While the display bezels and software experience might not be for everyone, the Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset, 50MP camera, and premium look make it a compelling option in the budget segment. However, it also faces some touch competition from the likes of CMF Phone 1, Realme P1, and Poco M7 Pro.
