The buzz is real. UK-based tech brand Nothing is stepping beyond earbuds and into over-ear audio territory — and its first full-size headphones may just be the boldest we've seen all year. Slated to launch on July 1 alongside the Nothing Phone 3, the upcoming Headphone (1) has already broken cover thanks to a flurry of live image and render leaks.
The leaked images — first posted by Nothing Fan Blog on Instagram and later by EqualLeaks on X — reveal a strikingly original design. The earcups feature a see-through exterior with a raised oval module resting on a rectangular base, evoking the feel of an old-school cassette tape. This unusual visual approach stays true to Nothing’s signature transparent aesthetic that set its earlier products apart in a sea of matte plastic.
Chunky physical buttons are visible on each earcup, hinting at tactile media controls. The headband and ear cushions appear to be thickly padded, balancing retro-futuristic visuals with comfort-focused design choices.
While the headphones are wireless, one of the leaked renders reveals a 3.5mm headphone jack next to a USB-C charging port — a welcome move for audiophiles who still prefer wired playback. Though official specs are yet to be confirmed, these visual cues suggest a hybrid setup supporting Bluetooth connectivity as well.
The headphones appear in black and white, though reports suggest the white version may be swapped with grey in some regions like the U.S. The “cassette” base design is made from what looks like metal, topped with plastic to complete the layered look.
What makes this leak even more exciting? The Headphone (1) has reportedly been co-developed with British high-end audio firm KEF. That partnership hints at serious sound quality, potentially putting it in competition with heavyweights like Sony, Bose, and Apple.
According to early reports, the Nothing Headphone (1) will retail for $309 in the U.S., translating to roughly ₹26,700 in India. The price tags in other regions include £299 in the UK and €299 across select European markets. That positions the product in the premium segment, signaling Nothing’s intent to move beyond affordable accessories into flagship-tier experiences.
With an official debut set for July 1, the Headphone (1) is shaping up to be more than just a new product — it’s a statement piece. If the final build lives up to the leaks, Nothing could once again redefine what minimalist, futuristic audio tech looks like in 2025.
