Omar Abdullah’s emotional apology
Omar Abdullah said, “Mere paas alfaaz nahi the ki main kya keh ke inke gharwaalon se maafi maangoon,” (I did not have the words to say what to say to his family to apologise) during his address to the Assembly. Accepting moral responsibility for the attack, Abdullah said he could not guarantee the safety of tourists and promised to review security protocols.“This failure is mine,” he said, pledging to work with central agencies to prevent such tragedies in the future.
J&K assembly’s resolution
The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly unanimously passed a resolution expressing shock and anguish over the Pahalgam attack. Lawmakers demanded swift justice and immediate strengthening of security for tourists and civilians across the state.
India bans Pakistani YouTube channels
In a related move, India banned sixteen Pakistani YouTube channels, including Dawn News and Geo News, accusing them of spreading false and communally sensitive content, particularly in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack.
