In a move that puts user privacy front and center, fintech giant Paytm has rolled out a new feature called ‘Hide Payment’. This update empowers users to mask specific transactions from their payment history, an important tool for anyone who shares their device with others or simply wants more control over their digital finances.
What Is the ‘Hide Payment’ Feature?
The new feature allows users to hide select payments from their visible transaction timeline. While the transactions are not deleted, they are masked from regular view, giving users the freedom to keep certain expenses confidential, whether it’s a surprise gift, a professional reimbursement, or something personal.
The hidden payments remain securely stored and can be viewed or unhidden anytime using a PIN or biometric verification.
Why This Matters?
Digital transactions are convenient — but they also leave a detailed trail. With shared devices becoming more common, especially among families and friends, Paytm’s move taps into growing concerns over digital privacy. The ability to hide specific transactions offers users a level of control that’s been missing in most financial apps so far.
Paytm stated that the feature is aimed at “offering users more control over their payment history” and reflects the rising demand for privacy-first financial tools.

That’s it — the transaction disappears from your main history.
How to View or Unhide It

- Tap the three-dot menu → ‘View Hidden Payments’
- Verify with PIN or biometrics
- Swipe left and unhide the transaction
As privacy continues to be a top concern for digital users, Paytm’s Hide Payment feature may just become a game-changer.
