During the wedding season, celebrities are teaching us that outfit repetition can carry as much shine as a brand-new buy. Alia Bhatt took her Sabyasachi wedding saree to the National Awards again, but she styled it in a new way with the absence of the typical heavy jewellery and the use of a simple floral bun.

Sushmita Sen took the beige saree that she wore on Koffee With Karan and made it new by wearing a sparkly blouse and a statement neck piece for Diwali 2023.

Old faves, new ways

Gauri Khan reimagined her red Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla saree , which was initially worn at Isha Ambani’s wedding ,with a bold lip and sleek bun look the second time around. Sara Ali Khan converted her indigo anarkali from Bhai Dooj 2020 into a wedding-ready ensemble by wearing ornate earrings and glowy makeup. Deepika Padukone even went beyond the traditional use of her red Banarasi dupatta and made a Diwali showstopper out of it.

Now even the royals are on board

It’s not only Bollywood. Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has effectively demonstrated that reusing outfits can be the foundation of one’s personal signature style, thereby, showing that real grace is in the way you wear something, not how new it is.

Ways to re-style like a celebrity

Change your accessories: Just choosing between heavy and minimal jewellery (or the other way round) can have a drastic effect on your appearance.

Hairstyle experiments: A new updo, waves, or braid — everything is different with the new hairstyle.

Use Makeup creatively: Your makeup can be the setting for your outfit by being soft glam or bold lips etc.

Mix and match: Pair old blouses, dupattas, or skirts differently for a creativel refresh.

Re-styling is not only chic ,it’s eco-friendly and wise. Take the stars as your example this festival season and let your old faves tell new ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌tales.
