Chief Justice of India BR Gavai has said that he will re-examine the recent Supreme Court directive to remove stray dogs from Delhi. The matter was brought to the attention of the CJI by an advocate.

The advocate raised concerns over the SC order directing the removal of all stray dogs from the streets of Delhi within six to eight weeks.

He also drew the top court’s attention to the contradiction between this latest order and a previous order which prohibited the indiscriminate killing of dogs.

According to ANI, in response, the CJI said he will look into the matter.

PM Modi’s US plan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit New York for the annual high-level session of the United Nations General Assembly in September. This is, as PM Modi’s name appears on a provisional list of speakers issued by the United Nations.

Some reports, quoting unnamed sources, also say that during his visit to the United States, PM Modi may also meet US President Donald Trump. The news comes at a time when US–India ties have hit a low due to two key reasons.

First, Trump has been claiming that his mediation helped stop the war between India and Pakistan. The US President has also imposed a 50 per cent tariff on Indian goods.

The company said its policy change comes after extensive consultation with Eternal’s parent community, revealing that family needs extend far beyond the immediate post-birth period.

The policy supports all parents – birthing, non-birthing, adoptive, and those welcoming children through surrogacy – regardless of gender.

Dalal Street clocks gains

Indian equities traded higher on Wednesday, tracking gains in Asian markets. These gains were driven by lower US retail inflation numbers, which have boosted prospects of a US rate cut in September.
