Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his gratitude to the people of India, Uttar Pradesh, and Prayagraj for their role in ensuring the success of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi highlighted the collective effort that made the sacred event possible.
PM said, ""I stand here to speak about Prayagraj's Maha Kumbh. I congratulate the crores of countrymen whose efforts made this grand event a success. Many people contributed to the successful organisation of the Maha Kumbh. I salute everyone from the government and society who participated in the preparations. I also extend my gratitude to the devotees from across the country, the people of Uttar Pradesh, and especially the residents of Prayagraj."
Prime Minister Modi’s remarks emphasised the large-scale participation and seamless execution of the grand spiritual gathering, which attracted millions of devotees, saints, and visitors from across the world.
“A National Awakening”
PM Modi also talked about what he called “a national awakening” in the Maha Kumbh. He said, “I emphasised the importance of 'Sabka Sath Sab ka Vikas' from the Red Fort. The entire world saw India's grandeur in the form of Maha Kumbh... We witness a national awakening in the Maha Kumbh, which would inspire new achievements... This also gave a befitting reply to those who doubt our strength."
Maha Kumbh 2025 in Uttar Pradesh
The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 was organised in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, from January 13 to February 26, lasting 45 days. This grand Hindu pilgrimage, occurring every 12 years with the Maha version every 144 years, drew an estimated 450 million devotees, making it the world's largest religious gathering.
The Notable Visitors
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath oversaw the extensive preparations for the event, which was also attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Globally, notable visitors included Laurene Powell Jobs, widow of Steve Jobs, alongside a 21-member delegation from 10 countries like Fiji, Malaysia, and the UAE, highlighting its international appeal.
