The Enforcement Directorate has filed a case against over two dozen celebrities. The list includes prominent actors Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati, and Prakash Raj. According to reports, the case pertains to alleged promotion of illegal betting applications, in violation of the Public Gambling Act, 1867.

A report by The Hindu states that the probe revolves around paid endorsements for platforms such as Junglee Rummy, A23, JeetWin, Parimatch, Lotus365, and others suspected to be involved in large-scale money laundering.
SC on Bihar voter list revision
The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed the Election Commission of India to proceed with the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar. The bench, comprising Justices Sudhanshu Dhulia and Joymalya Bagchi, noted that, prima facie, the Commission should consider accepting documents like Aadhaar, Ration Card, and Voter ID during the process. The matter will next be heard on 28 July. The poll panel has been asked to file its affidavit within a week.
Delhi-NCR earthquake
A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck near Jhajjar in Haryana on Thursday morning, with tremors felt across the Delhi-NCR region. The epicentre was located 51 kilometres west of Delhi at a depth of 10 kilometres. Residents in Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon rushed out of homes and offices, but no casualties or property damage were reported at the time of writing.
India-US Trade talks
Rajesh Agrawal, India’s chief negotiator for the proposed India-US bilateral trade agreement, has said that efforts are underway to finalise the first phase of the deal by October this year.Speaking at an event in Delhi, Agrawal, who is also a Special Secretary in the Department of Commerce, added that an interim agreement is being worked on as a precursor. His comments come just as the United States has sent notices to 22 countries announcing tariff hikes ranging from 25 to 50 per cent, effective the first of August.
