Just a day after announcing his retirement from Test cricket, Virat Kohli, along with his wife Anushka Sharma, took a moment of reflection at the Shri Radha Keli Kunj Ashram in Vrindavan. The couple, known for their shared spiritual journey, visited the ashram to seek blessings from spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj.
The couple were seen arriving quietly in a simple white cab, dressed in traditional white clothes, and avoiding any fanfare. They spent over three hours at the ashram near Varaha Ghat, where they met with Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj, a spiritual figure they’d visited before.
A Heartfelt Conversation
Virat and Anushka sat on the floor with folded hands, listening intently to the spiritual discourse. At one point, Maharaj turned to Kohli and asked if he was happy. Kohli simply smiled and nodded, his expression calm and peaceful—offering a rare glimpse into his state of mind after closing a major chapter in his cricketing career.
A New Phase For Kohli
The visit came just after Kohli shared an emotional note on Instagram announcing his retirement from red-ball cricket. He said the journey had tested and shaped him and that stepping away from Test cricket “felt right.”
Kohli’s 14-year-long Test career included 123 matches, over 9,200 runs, and a historic record as India’s most successful Test captain.
Peace After The Pitch
From Rishikesh to Ujjain to Vrindavan, the couple’s spiritual trail reflects a search for peace and meaning—especially for Kohli, whose life is entering a new, quieter chapter beyond the cricket field
