After a disappointing outing in the 1st ODI, where the former Indian skipper was dismissed for just 8 runs, Sharma is leaving no stone unturned ahead of the crucial 2nd ODI against Australia at the iconic Adelaide Oval.

While most of the playing XI opted out of the optional practice session, Rohit was the first to arrive, reaching the ground at 9:30 AM, a full 30 minutes before the scheduled session. Big names like Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Shreyas Iyer skipped practice, but Sharma’s early presence set the tone for his intent.

Once settled, the Indian skipper put in a focused net session, working extensively on his drives and pull shots. Observers noted his timing and confidence improving as the session progressed, signs of a player looking to bounce back strong.

Adelaide Conditions Set the Stage for a High-Stakes 2nd ODI

The weather in Adelaide is warm, but overcast conditions could make the pitch tricky, bringing swing and seam into play, similar to Perth. Rohit’s session reflected an awareness of these conditions, with extra emphasis on footwork and timing against the moving ball.

While Rohit Sharma’s preparation was the highlight, the rest of the squad remained largely low-key. KL Rahul came out solely for wicketkeeping drills and didn’t bat. Others like Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna were either absent or played limited roles in the session.

Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar was also present, seen chatting with key players and staff including Gautam Gambhir, sparking discussions around potential tweaks to the XI for the next match.

But one thing is clear: Rohit Sharma is dialed in. After a rare failure in the series opener, he looks determined to set the record straight. With his meticulous preparation and calm demeanor, all eyes will be on the skipper when he walks out for the 2nd ODI vs Australia at Adelaide Oval.
