What if getting fit could also land you one of the year’s top smartwatches? That’s the pitch from Samsung this August as it kicks off the third edition of Walk-a-thon India — a nationwide challenge that blends health goals with premium tech rewards.
What is Samsung Walk-a-thon India?
It’s a simple but exciting campaign: walk 200,000 steps between August 1 and August 30, 2025, and you’re in the running for some serious perks.
Whether you’re a fitness fanatic or just someone looking for extra motivation, this challenge is open to anyone with an Android or Galaxy phone, like the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Here’s how to join the challenge
To participate, follow these steps:
- Download the Samsung Health app
- Sign in with your Samsung or Android account
- Join the Walk-a-thon India August 2025 challenge
- Start walking — you need to log 200,000 steps by August 30
Samsung Health will track your progress using your phone’s built-in motion sensors.
Once you hit the step goal, you’ll need to:
- Download the Samsung Members app between September 5 and 30
- Log in and claim your reward
What can you win?
Samsung is offering two reward tiers:
Three lucky winners will get the Galaxy Watch 8 for free. The Galaxy Watch 8 series was launched recently at the Galaxy Unfold event, alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip FE.
Everyone else who completes the challenge gets a ₹15,000 coupon to use toward buying the Galaxy Watch 8 on the Samsung online store or Shop app
Depending on the variant, that coupon could bring down the final price to just ₹17,999.
Why it matters
This isn’t just a gimmick — it’s part of Samsung’s bigger push to make fitness fun and rewarding. The Galaxy Watch 8 already packs in new health features, improved sensors, and a refined design. Pair that with a chance to earn it by walking? That’s motivation enough to lace up.
So, are you ready to walk your way to a new smartwatch? The Galaxy Watch 8 might just be a few thousand steps away.
