Prime Minister Narendra Modi co-chaired the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit in Paris, emphasizing the need for global cooperation in AI governance. Modi stressed the importance of addressing challenges like cybersecurity threats, disinformation, and biases to ensure AI's benefits are accessible to all.

Addressing the AI Action Summit, PM also highlighted AI's potential to reshape various aspects of life, including the economy, security, and society, while pointing out the technology's unprecedented scale of development.

Modi illustrated AI's dual nature by noting that while AI can simplify complex medical reports, it may also exhibit biases, such as favoring right-handedness in generated images due to skewed training data.

He advocated for unified global standards and regulations to mitigate risks, foster innovation, and ensure equitable access to AI technologies. He also noted the importance of making sure AI development remains democratic and doesn't become a power struggle.

The Prime Minister highlighted India's advancements in AI adoption, research, and talent development, noting the country's large AI talent pool and growing AI market. He also stressed the importance of addressing concerns related to cybersecurity, disinformation, and deepfakes.

Modi called for the development of open-source systems that enhance trust and transparency, as well as the creation of quality, bias-free datasets. Modi also emphasized the necessity of investing in skilling and reskilling people for an AI-driven future.
